Change/Positive Thinking/Speaking LIFE into your Life

2 Kings Chapter 4
Proverbs 21:20

Having struggle is how to get a new system of thinking and Jesus wants to give us a new system of thinking

If thinking doesn't change, we can't get to the next levels.. We need to change our vessel to make any impacts in our lives or the lives of others.
You have to know what to eat and what not to.. In life.
  • If you don't shut the door on yesterday, you can't move forward
  • Excuses of today need to end and you need to be willing to move into tomorrow
  • Foolishness causes us not get to our oil (anointing)
  • Foolishness does not begin at the top
  • Foolishness starts with us and our values systems (How we treat and train)
  • Foolishness is the significance of gifts.. God gave us something (gift) but our foolishness causes us be negative and devalue the gifts
  • Foolishness makes us lose valuable time
  • Foolishness does not learn from previous experience
  • Foolishness preoccupies itself with the wrong questions... "why did have to be born" etc.. "why me" ask wrong questions
  • Foolishness abandons strategic outcomes
  • A foolish person sits back and waits for something to happen…Waiting on chance verses doing something..

If you do what you want to do, you'll never do what you want to do..
You have to put your feet down and claim the pot if oil in your house.  The questions you choose to respond to determine the outcome of your life
When you look for someone else to do something for you they determine the level you live in it
1) shifts responsibility
2) abdicates dominion

SO… What do you have in it house...(other ?) Don’t be negative about life and make all aspects of your life positive.

SPEAK GOD INTO YOUR LIFE
prophet said then go get their vessels (go learn, go find.. you’re in a system with old mentality.. Same talent with diff administration..(ex). Find someone who knows more than what u do..we what their system is and figure out how to multiply.

FIND PASSION!

Corner Stone?

I am sitting at work, listening to worship music. OKAY let me be honest singing along and then finding it hard to concentrate because I get a point where that is ALL I want to do and worship God.  Instead, I thought I would take a quick 10 min break and reflect.

Going through trails seems like a part of everyone's life.  My life has had it's share of NOT so great events.  I am in my mid 30's, recently married YET we are constantly be tested.  I know that is to make us strong and maybe creates opportunities to share our stories with others.  None the less, we get so wrapped up in "OUR" lives and routines we forget who the CORNERSTONE stone of our lives are.  I am sure this the story more majority of us.

As I sit here writing, I keep replaying Chris alone, cornerstone.  Christ alone, cornerstone.  ... the song is amazing.  I encourage you to read the lyrics and make that a prayer for your lives, as I do.  It is so important to be grounded on a solid foundation.

My hope is built on nothing less
Than Jesus blood and righteousness
I dare not trust the sweetest frame
But wholly trust in Jesus name

My hope is built on nothing less
Than Jesus blood and righteousness
I dare not trust the sweetest frame
But wholly trust in Jesus name

Christ alone; cornerstone
Weak made strong; in the Saviour's love
Through the storm, He is Lord
Lord of all

When Darkness seems to hide His face
I rest on His unchanging grace
In every high and stormy gale
My anchor holds within the veil
My anchor holds within the veil

Christ alone; cornerstone
Weak made strong; in the Saviour's love
Through the storm, He is Lord
Lord of all
He is Lord
Lord of all

Christ alone
Christ alone; cornerstone
Weak made strong; in the Saviour's love
Through the storm, He is Lord
Lord of all

Christ alone; cornerstone
Weak made strong; in the Saviour's love
Through the storm, He is Lord
Lord of all

When He shall come with trumpet sound,
Oh, may I then in Him be found;
Dressed in His righteousness alone,
Faultless stand before the throne.

The ALTAR (incomplete and needs proof reading)

I heard a sermon at Gateway City Church, in June and it has NOT left me.  While Pastor David was preaching, all I could think of was how this related to my daily struggle and it made sense on how/why some churches are lacking vitals for a FIRE FILLED,POWERFUL ALTAR of prayer.

James 5:16-18 reads that "The EFFECTIVE and fervent PRAYER of a righteous man avails much.  Elijah.... PRAYED earnestly that it would not rain; and it did not rain on the land for three years and six months.  And he PRAYED again, and the heaven gave rain"    That passage shows us that we can build EFFECTIVE altars of prayer based the patterns of God's word.     Well, genius thought right?  I knew/know about praying Gods word into our lives BUT what you are about to read, BREAKS it down further. I can tell you this - I learned a lot and had some AH HA moments.

Below will be the notes from the sermon mixed with my own thoughts/notes.  If you want to read the story of Elijah, it can be found in 1 Kings 18: 17-39.  What is amazing is the PRAYER is SO SO SO strong.  Only an alter of prayer can overturn Jezebel and reform a nation.  (that was not my quote) :)

When Elijah built an Alter, he had 12 stones.  In this story he as actually repairing the alter. When I heard that, all I could think about was the amount of times I have attempted to rebuild this alter and was not successful a lot of the times.  Maybe because I was missing some key stones for a solid alter?   Trails and tribulations are allowed in our lives to get our attention.  There are so many times when God shuts off our water to get our attention and that is usually the time he wants us to rebuild our alter.  I find that to be true in my life - when that alter is rebuild it us almost ALWAYS attached to a revival.

When Elijah was praying, it was so that the 12 tribes would be revived.  The 12 tribes = the 12 stones of the Altar.

First 6 stones are:  Ruben, Asher, Benjamin, Ephraim and Manasseh, Levi and Simeon.

RUBEN means knowing the son (to know a son).
An alter in prayer = intimacy.  Ruben is a reflection to how our relationship is with Jesus Christ.  We come to know the son and build that relationship and faith.  With the time we spend and the closer we get, we then can approach Him safely.

ASHER means faith to be blessed.
Asher tribe was rich in oil and water and was the richest of all the tribes.  Moses gave appropriate blessings to him and said let him be favored by his brothers.   When Moses prayer, he expected blessings.  That means prayer begins with a faith that EXPECTS blessings.

What are your expectations from God?  When you are at your alter, you want the fire of God to come down on you.  Hebrews 11:6 tells us that without faith, it is IMPOSSIBLE to please God.  That anyone who comes to God, needs to BELIEVE that He is and that God is a rewarder of those seek him diligently.

BENJAMIN means spiritual desire (son of the right hand).
Benjamin was so special to Jacob!  This tribe was small BUT very powerful, it was the warrior tribe,   This tribe always had spiritual hunger, which is KEY is SO to building an alter.   John 15:7 tells us that if we abide in Jesus, His word then abides in us.  Then when we actually ASK what we DESIRE, it will be done. God's fire NEVER comes to and alter that does not have passion and desire. The key that I took from this was to stir up more desire in my prayer life.

EPHRAIM & MANASSEH have firstborn authority.
As God's children, we always pray for a position of authority.  Ruben sinned and lost the blessings of the 1st born, so Jacob took that blessing and gave it to Ephraim and Manasseh.    This stone is very powerful to us.  We are like Ruben, we all have sinned BUT there was an Ephraim and Manasseh that we adopted which gives us 1st born privileges.  When we pray, we need to pray from a place/position of authority.  God makes all things new when we do it from the position of the 1st Born's authority.

LEVI has agreement and unity (connected or joined)
To adhere too, or cling too. Levi tribe is a HOLY tribe.  Prayer is not a solo thing to do.  When you pray, it is important to be connected with the power of unity and agreement.  Is there something missing from our life that we need to connect to?  Psalms 33 - we need the local church and relationships. As it tells us in Mathew 18:19 if 2 of us agree here on earth about anything you ask, it will be done for you by my (Jesus') Father in heaven.

SIMEON is trusting God (hearing).
Leah's prayer in the Bible was for God to hear her, when she got pregnant.   When in prayer, we need to have confidence.  This is SO SO important and I know I am constantly tested here.  We need to pray to have the confidence while we are waiting on God to answer prayers. When there has not been a break through, we need to stand strong in faith and trust that God hears us.

Life's Journey -

My last blog post was a while ago and a lot has happened in my life.  I will be repurposing this blog to not only focus on spiritual growth,  however, I will use to talk about daily life and the challenges I face.   In my life's journey seemed like most of my early adulthood was focused on praying for a husband and breaking the cycle of dating random people.   I always tried to hold to what Jeremiah (29:11) read: 'I know the plans I have for you... plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future'.  Though that was a daily prayer the road was LONG had sharp turns, at times a random deer would jump out and make you totally swirve in the wrong direction - yet sometimes, it was AMAZING and beautiful.  Hence it is called a journey.

At times in this journey, I had so many questions, and mainly all doubted my abilities and God's grace.  Basically there was a fear that was present.  At the time, I had no clue it was fear - but looking back now, I am confidently say it was.  Our emotions can lie to us in life's journey and it always important to counter those emotions with truth.  I know it is easier said than done BUT leaning on the greatest truth there is can counteract those fears.  That truth is God.  Knowing God is love and that He loved me and His plans were and still are good for me.  Learning to trust and letting go.  Learning to lean on the truth of His WORD, the Bible.  Allowing that word to take root into my soul.  Learning to trust my future to Him who knows my needs and KNOW that He loves me deeply.

What a great lesson - a nice reminder!

Prayer and God

"Be still and KNOW I AM God, I will be praised in all the nations. I will be praised throughout the earth" Psalms 46:10

In my morning Bible reading today, it dawned on me to take notes and share thoughts my thoughts while I read.   I have been really focused on prayer lately - actually seems like it's been like this for a while, as it is an area of struggle for me.  I often wonder why, because I LOVE to talk... and at times talking to creator is the HARDEST thing ever.  Maybe because I feel like it is a one sided conversation at times, though in my heart and mind know it is not. Can one really perfect prayer?   HAH!  that was silly to write out because I already know the answer to that.

What I learned in today's reading is that though I feel like at times my prayers are 1 way, they are not.  I have to start acknowledging that GOD is GOD and He is powerful and bigger than any problem that I may have or think that I may have.   Isn't that something?  I know this, but have to write it out for it to REALLY sink in.  God has the power over everything and can do all things.  This goes back to the simple phrase I love to use, 'let go and let God'.   After reading, I notice that at times my focus is on small items.  Items that I may lack in life or when people ask me to pray for them or I just happen to pray for items in peoples lives the prayers - the items are small, though they seem like mountains at times. I need to always remember that:

God is a healing God!
God is a provider!
God redeems!
God forgives!
God's love is the most PERFECT love one can have!
God is a powerful God!

Notice that everything that GOD IS. What we pray/ask/whine/cry/beg for in our prayers, God fullfills.
         He is perfect! :)
This makes me want to take the self centered prayers I have and turn them around and NOT think of my circumstance, frustration and disappointment.  This is true for many, people focus these items on ourselves, a mate, a friend, a relative.

Doubt and clouded thinking will result to lack of faith or a lack of belief.  Focusing and trusting God in our prayers will help us build faith and have better prayer experiences.

Time to exercise this out for myself.  It is a struggle, but BE STILL AND KNOW THAT I AM GOD!

Consistancy

It seems like my inconsistency with some aspects of my life do not balance out the way I would like them too.  This is frustrating and it creates many road blocks into getting things accomplished.  I often start things with the best of intentions and let obstacles get in the way.  That would be labeled as poor time management in the business world...

Okay, so this blog is a little different from my previous ones, but I do want to incorporate more life instances and link them to my spiritual walk.

I guess this blog is SORT OF revisiting my goals/new years resolutions.  I will list a couple of my topics, to help remind me to be consistent:
Spiritually
1) Consistent prayer life
2) Daily reading (actual focusing) of the Bible (Check, but need some deep dive sessions)
3) Plug into a good Bible Study
4) Make a prayer list (WHICH IS 1 thing I have been consistent with)
Physical
1) Make healthier choices
2) Workout AT LEAST 5 times a week (need to tune up more)
3) Drop some LB's

Opening the Door to Favor

In our Christian walks many of us may have heard the term, GOD FAVOR is on this person or that person...
But what the heck does FAVOR really mean, and how can one "OPEN" that door.
I suppose as a Christian I think , what kind of favor.  What kind is there??... Perhaps Kingdom Favor.   The need to have the touch of God on our lives so strong that the effect of that transforms the people around us.
This blog is based on my thoughts and some notes from a sermon I heard Pastor Ron, teach at Harvest Church in Turlock.  Hopefully, it will get you to think about God's favor in your life.

So, in thinking of what favor is, I actually looked up in the dictionary, this is what it said: "
something done or granted out of goodwill, rather than from justice or for remuneration; a kind act" or "a gift bestowed as a token of goodwill, kind regard, love, excessive kindness, the state of being approved or held in regard"  That's a pretty good description! ... so how does this favor relate to a Christian.  That would be seeking Gods favor on our lives.

Gods favor comes on our lives when God's grace is on our lives... Grace, another deep word (look it up ;).
Naturally as people, we limit God, we limit His grace and place a cap on it.  When we have God, His grace and love we are empowered.

1 Corinthians 12  - Fruit of the spirit
Grace comes to empower u encourage,  edifying and deliver people How do we get favor?
In Mark chpt 4, it mentions that revelation releases reality in our lives.  In Luke it asks us who is Jesus to us?

For Peter the apostle, his revelation is that Jesus is the Messiah and Jesus built HIS church on that rock.
                         So what is our Revelation?

... here is some insight to build on that question.  In Mark chpt 4, it talks about the parable of the sower.  If we catch the principle of this parable it unlocks mysteries.  The chapter goes on talking about the soil.
"(You have to)  Accept it, receive or welcome it (the word) and they (you) will bear 30/60/100 fold... No other soil conditions bore fruit"

We need to hold on to our seed by reading the word, remaining in prayer and coming to church.   If we DO NOT get that revelation, we will not bare the fruit mentioned.   If you get your revelation and it does not make you more like Christ, it will make you religious.

In my next blog, I will continue talking about this.  It is a process to know, accept and let God work.. the favor and the grace, the seed and fruit... THE REVELATION.

For myself, its a constant struggle.  I feel like I lack the revelation but I am always planting and attempting to grow a fruitful tree.  Well, now that I write this I realize that I have only had small mini trees.  My immediate revelation is God time... more time in the word and meditation with Him, so He can reveal my revelation or as some may rephrase it MY PURPOSE in life.
